the title of my blog

The title of my blog is “love is the movement.” This is based in part on twloha, but also on the song by switchfoot that it is based upon. It’s also what being a follower of Christ is all about. The greatest commandment that was give is this:

Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ Matthew 22:37-39 MSG

This is pretty well what Christianity is all about, love. Love God, love people. I find that a lot of the time, it’s complicated further than that. It’s really not that hard, just put others before yourself and love Jesus.

Now going along with these thoughts is a post about current worship and the life in the church that I read today. This was written by my roomate and is a really good read for anyone in the church today.

Have a good day all.

  1. Hey bud thanks for the link back. Love the name of the site, its a good reminder to all of us that the most important thing in life is love… the two commandments Jesus gave, Love God, Love your neighbor both include love… so maybe this love thing is important.
Again great posts, look forward to reading more.

  2. First i have to say props to the site and what it stands for. Great Job.
Must say you have a great idea in this post. And your right I do wish more people would practice, rather than preach Christ’s love. Love is more than adopting a kid in Africa. Its being able to see and genuinely feel what a person or group is going through, whether it be an emotion of pain, sadness or of joy and excitement. This is a the gift of Christ’s love. It is demonstrated by the way a husband treats his wife, a father and his son, a best friend, and perfectly by God to His people.
We see that God would be saddened by His peoples sadness and joyful by there same excitement. So I guess to sum this whole rant up I’d have to say that in order to love as Christ loved we need to have all thoughts of ourselves on others.

If we get that right I believe we will know just how to give and show love to every one.

  3. another summary of what your saying Zach might be is in this one verse taken from Matthew 5:44 “44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” It’s not easy to do what this scriptures says but once you do it can be very releasing of some spiritual bonds of anger and other negative emotions we may hold against our brothers and sisters and even unto the unsaved as well.
